The Moral Decline of Civilization (part 1)
The whole concept of the reality show is killing me. The morally reprehensible actors are glorified by sheep who have no life of their own to live. The producers know that the weak-minded flock to thrive on rose ceremonies and tribal councils. See, they understand that they have tapped a voyeuristic nerve in lifeless individuals, and those drones CANNOT live with out soaking up all the programmed drama that they can get. Why don’t people understand that it is just one huge sick circle of depravity eating away at what is left of the morality of America? Not one thing about the shows are getting more intelligent. Every season there is a new batch of crap coming out worse than the one before.Why do people let them selves get so wrapped up in it all? Two Reasons: Sex and Voyeurism. Producers know good and well, when they bait the lines with plenty of sex, they will receive many bites, in this case ratings. They claim they are just giving the public what it wants. Well, why do they want it so bad? Because the market is inundated with immorality appealing to immoral desires. It’s a cycle of debauchery earning producers a lot of money. Their belief in all of this is: “Why fight your instincts?”, “Just do it”, “Anything for money.” The weak minded people fall prey to this and become one of the drones.
Then, as if the sex is not a big enough hook, there is the voyeurism. You know, that need to watch a train wreck; the inability to concentrate on the road and not rubberneck when passing an automobile accident. Well, to cause this train wreck on T.V. to happen, just mix up a few token members from various minorities, add to a bunch of white people, promise the winner money, and watch the sparks fly. Drama this ‘real’ can’t be written in a screen play for a movie. So once again, the sheep are herded to the new church to lose a little more ability to think for themselves.
It may have started out as an extreme game show (i.e. Survivor) but now it's way out of hand. The immorality and exploitation that is being shoved down everyone’s throat is ridicules. The common theme of most all of the shows is 'How Low Will You Go' (just see Fear Factor).
This has also got to be the biggest collection of fake drama in history. It is blatantly obvious too. The worshipers at the Church of Reality don’t understand this concept though. They are too worried (I mean worried to the point of tears) about who is in the pinning ceremony, what alliance is cheating, who is ‘gonna hook up’. The drama is enhanced by a few decently skilled editors with hundreds of hours of video and a lot of stock dramatic music. Oh the drama may be real to a point, but the editors take it to a level that the drones will be unable to look away. Talk about exploiting weakness. I know they are not responsible for educating the viewing public, but they sure are responsible for making them dumber.
